Your career stays in your browser

StarBoySim stores careers and settings in this browser’s local storage. Accounts are optional. Supporters can save private careers to their account; completed careers are automatically saved when signed in as a supporter, and careers are saved before restarting. Advertising is disabled until the site owner configures an approved provider. No analytics scripts are bundled. Career imports are processed locally. Share images are downloaded to your device and are not automatically published. Cloud career uploads include the full career record, fictional player name, statistics and game decisions.

Optional accounts

Social sign-in can use the configured Google, GitHub or Apple provider. We store a provider identifier, available verified email and display name, plus hashed session identifiers. We do not store your provider password or long-lived provider tokens. Necessary session cookies support sign-in. Different providers are separate accounts unless explicitly linked in a future feature.

Supporter career archives are private and stored with Cloudflare D1. Membership is required to open them. You can remove individual careers or delete your account from Account. Expired membership does not automatically delete archives; storage limits apply.

Optional leaderboard submissions

Submitting a finished career sends your chosen public display name, career seed and recorded game decisions to this game’s server. The server recalculates the career and stores the public name, position, draft mode, season count, score, statistics and submission time. The seed is stored as a hash to prevent duplicate submissions. Decision records and an intermediate verification checkpoint are stored temporarily while the server recalculates a submission. They expire after one hour and are removed on completion or during a later submission. Completed leaderboard entries do not contain those decision records. Signed-in submissions are linked privately to your account; a supporter star is displayed when that account has current membership. Emails and account identifiers are not published. Leaderboards are public; choose a nickname rather than personal information. A temporary fingerprint derived from your IP address and the current UTC date limits submission attempts and expires after two days. Expired fingerprints are removed during subsequent submissions.

Local testing uses a separate local database. The hosted leaderboard uses Cloudflare D1; local test entries are not copied to the public leaderboard. Contact the creator through Ko-fi to request removal of a published entry.

Advertising preparation

Local previews can display a labelled empty advertising placement. This does not request ads or send information to an advertiser. When advertising is enabled, Google AdSense may process technical information and use cookies or similar technologies to select, measure and serve ads. Google Privacy & messaging handles the consent choices required for the configured regions. The game only requests ads after its account and consent checks allow it. Supporter members receive no ad requests made by the game. An available Privacy & cookie settings control lets you revisit applicable choices. Global Privacy Control disables ad requests made by this game. See how Google uses information from partner sites. Restart ads use the approved H5 Games Ads API; Google controls when an ad is available and when it can be dismissed. No advertisement is required to preserve the local career.

Hosting

When hosted on Cloudflare, ordinary requests to load the game pass through Cloudflare. Hosting and security services may process technical information such as IP addresses, request URLs and browser information. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Subscriptions

Supporter subscriptions use Stripe-hosted checkout and billing management. We store Stripe customer/subscription identifiers, status and paid-period dates. Card details are entered on Stripe and are not stored by StarBoySim. Monthly and annual prices are shown in Canadian dollars (CAD). Signed payment notifications update membership; visiting a checkout return URL does not grant access. Account deletion cancels ongoing subscriptions and removes app account records and linked leaderboard entries; Stripe may retain financial records required for its services or legal obligations. Support links

The optional support link takes you to Ko-fi. Ko-fi and its payment processors handle contributions under their own policies, separately from Stripe Supporter subscriptions.

Your controls

Use Save to account to preserve a supporter career in cloud history. Clearing this site’s browser storage deletes local careers and settings. If you are not a supporter, your local career is not backed up to an account. Downloaded files can be deleted from your device. Saves do not automatically transfer between localhost, pages.dev and the custom domain.

Sharing

You choose whether to post a screenshot, image or caption. Shared images may contain the player name you entered and your fictional career statistics. Avoid using private personal information in player names.
